A Little About
​Mrs. Stewart:

Mrs. Stewart began teaching Theater at Ivy Hawn Charter School of the Arts in it's 2nd year of operation. She began teaching K-8th grade until the school had it's first expansion where she transitioned to teaching middle school Theater.

During her first year at Ivy Hawn, Mrs. Stewart helped to charter Ivy Hawn's Junior Thespian Troupe 89103. There were 10 students involved in the first year of Troupe 89103. In the year of 2023, Troupe 89103 has grown to 38 students involved. (Our biggest troupe--was 48 students strong). In 2024-25 we had 32 student attend districts competiton at Lake Mary High School. Jr. Thespians Troupe 89103 participates in District and State Jr. Thespian competitions yearly. Jr. Thespians are students in middle school only. 

Ivy Hawn has produced one to two plays/musicals a year since it's inception. The fall show is typically a non-musical play and the spring show is a large musical theater piece. Students in grades 3 to 8th grade may audition for these mainstage plays to be onstage or work backstage in technical theatre. 

Mrs. Stewart also teaches the Musical Theater Class at Ivy Hawn. The class typically has two shows during the school year. One during the first 2 quarters and the final one in May. Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade may take musical theater. 

Prior to working at Ivy Hawn, Mrs. Stewart worked at various theaters in and around Florida including Sands Theater Center/Storybook Theater Company (Now called; The Athens Theater). Mrs. Stewart still occasionally directs plays at Shoestring Theater, and other community or semi-professional theaters in the central Florida area.

Mrs. Stewart is happily married with one college aged daughter.
